SANTA ROSA BEACH , Fla. -Two men are facing felony drug charges after the Walton County Sheriff’s Office busted a fully operational meth lab in Santa Rosa Beach on Thursday.
WCSO said residents on Central 7th Street have reported suspicions about the home for quite some time. During a search of the home at 56 Central 7th Street, deputies found about 54 grams of meth allegedly belonging to one of the residents, Billy Simmons II, 54, of DeFuniak Springs. Deputies found a fully operational meth lab in a second upstairs bedroom. Multiple containers of suspected methamphetamine oil totaling about 590 grams were also found.
The meth lab was in 63-year-old William Gay’s room. Gay showed up at the scene while investigators were still at the home. Gay is charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, 200 grams or more, and manufacturing methamphetamine. He faces a minimum of 25 years.
