US-based company VIVIFY Technology has unveiled the Flying Pig , a 1MW hydrogen-powered, containerized energy system designed to provide scalable, completely off-grid power. Through packing serious, scalable power into a mobile shipping container, VIVIFY is targeting remote industrial sites, disaster zones, forward military bases, and power-hungry data centers.

“This is deployable power, built in America, designed to make the old model irrelevant. The big energy companies had a century to get it right. They didn’t. We did.

The grid can’t follow you everywhere; legacy infrastructure is a constraint America no longer has to accept, and we no longer need permission to build something better,” said Jason Herring, founder and CEO of VIVIFY Technology.

“We built the Flying Pig™ so power can go where it is needed, when it is needed, without waiting on broken infrastructure or monopoly systems to catch up,” Herring added. According to the website, the highly integrated system combines a Pulsar array for on-demand hydrogen generation and system revitalization with an H2O input generator to produce its own fuel.

Interestingly, the modular design allows operators to rapidly assemble, connect, and scale up their power capacity by stacking or chaining additional units. As it runs on a localized hydrogen-based input source rather than a standard utility line or a diesel supply chain, it offers complete “The result is a deployable power system designed for remote sites, industrial operations, behind-the-meter use, and any environment where operators need power on their terms,” the Heavy industry has long faced a brutal choice: tether itself to an unstable grid or rely on massive diesel generators.

Both options are expensive, vulnerable, and logistically painful. VIVIFY claims its five-year cost projections show the Flying Pig operating at a fraction of the cost of conventional grid-dependent systems. Artificial intelligence is driving an unprecedented thirst for data center power.

Meanwhile, climate change is making grid infrastructure increasingly fragile. A rapidly deployable, independent power source solves both problems at once.

“We are not here to compete inside a broken system. We are here to make that system obsolete. Data centers, disaster zones, military operations, remote industrial sites, even the next frontier beyond Earth — they all point to the same truth: the world needs power that can move, scale, and operate outside the old rules. Energy independence is not a slogan.

It is an engineering problem, and the Flying Pig™ is the answer,” Herring continued. Interestingly, this type of scalable, off-grid architecture could eventually inform the energy systems needed for lunar exploration and future moon bases.
