About 3:30 a.m. Friday, jail staff notified the sheriff’s office that 33-year-old Dextarius Tierre Earies had died while he was in the Mobile County Metro Jail ’s medical clinic.
The Mobile County Sheriff's Office is investigating the May 15 death of Dextarius Tierre Earies in the Mobile County Metro Jail medical clinic. The sheriff’s office said detectives with the MCSO Major Crimes Unit responded to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death. The sheriff’s office said no additional information was available at this time. Jail records show Earies had been arrested on numerous occasions since 2011.
He was most recently booked into the jail on June 18, 2025, on domestic violence and criminal trespass warrants, according to the records.
