BRUNSWICK HILLS, Ohio - Nearly two years after a teenager mysteriously died, one person is facing charges connected to the case. Caleb Kimble , 20, is charged with obstruction of justice as part of the ongoing investigation into the death of Christion Olson .
Olson, 18, died in the early morning hours of July 13, 2024. Investigation spans hundreds of interviews“It will show a precedence that continues to obstruct us and give us false information and lie to the police, that we’re going to go after them,” Sopkovich said. Olson was out with friends in the neighborhood on Topaz Lane the night before his death, less than a block from the Brunswick Hills Police Station.
“We had no physical evidence, we had no crime scene,” Sopkovich said. “Unfortunately, there was no video surveillance or ring cameras in that area during that time frame. ”“We’re hopeful that this indictment will eventually get the truth out on really what happened to Christion,” Sopkovich said. Some still hang on telephone poles two years later.
Sopkovich has been adamant since the beginning of the investigation he believes someone knows what happened to Olson before friends took him home.
“This individual that has blatantly obstructed us, we know that we’ll be successful in this trial, and hopefully it will help us in getting some more indictments on this investigation,” Sopkovich said. The trial has been canceled and rescheduled twice.
