Your Che Guevara shirt celebrates a bloodthirsty maniac ShouldBeBetter

In this episode of Everything Should Be Better, Tristin Hopper argues you should probably put away your old Che Guevara T-shirts for good. Watch the video above, or read the transcript below.

But what if I told you about another beloved pop culture symbol that celebrates tyranny and oppression, but somehow nobody cares about? That’s right: This one. T-shirts featuring a photo of Che Freaking Guevara. Now, . What’s that, you forgot that a violent revolutionary might have an unhealthy relationship with murder? Well, buckle up, hipsters. There’s no other way to put this: Che Guevara really liked killing people.

Here’s what he told the freaking United Nations in 1964: “Yes, we have executed people; we are executing people and shall continue to execute people as long as it is necessary.” Another “archaic bourgeois detail”? Homosexuality. Both Che Guevara and Fidel Castro thought homosexuality was counter-revolutionary, and enthusiastically oversaw the round-up and imprisonment of gay men. Remember the Cuban Missile Crisis, when the world narrowly avoided nuclear war? That really bummed Che out.

Absolutely NO UNDERSTANDING.

So does a MAGA hat.

Let's get an actual analysis of the claims of a shitty Canadian Newspaper. Thank you EmpanadaBad

Che is a sex symbol. He was executed by Bolivian military under the eyes of a CIA agent after being captured in 1967.

I haven't seen anyone wearing a Che shirt in over a decade. Wearing t-shirts with the human form on them is reactionary trash anyhow.

no, it's good actually

Yes, revolutions are typically violent. Now do one about George Washington and the American Revolutionary War.
