The conflict in Ukraine has already disrupted exports of food and fertilizer out of the region, and is delaying planned expansions, all of which will contribute to a food crisis.
But sanctions against both countries and the Ukraine conflict have significantly slowed the shipping of exports out of Black Sea ports, a major path out of the region. The impact has been mitigated to this point because many farmers keep excess potash inventory on hand: potash can be stockpiled and retains its efficacy indefinitely, so long as it remains dry.Article content
