Woman dead after driver strikes two people in Sandy Hill

Ottawa police said officers responded to the incident on Charlotte Street at about 7 a.m. after the woman and another pedestrian were struck by the driver.The second pedestrian and the driver of the vehicle were transported to hospital with minor injuries, police said. The first pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.The police service’s fatal collision unit is investigating.

Investigators want to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or might have security video from neighbouring buildings or dashcam footage of this incident.
