Drone Delivery Canada CEO sees the deal as ‘transformational’ for the industry

Canada’s nascent drone industry took another step towards widespread use with a commercial agreement between Drone Delivery Canada and Air Canada on Tuesday.

Drone Delivery Canada CEO Tony Di Benedetto sees the deal as “transformational” for the industry, noting that the value of the deal will be announced at a later date once the routes have been finalized.“I think this brings about a lot of legitimacy to the business,” said Di Benedetto. “The tech in our opinion has been proven out and now we have Canada’s largest aircraft carrier on board utilizing the technology.

Drone Delivery Canada, which was founded in 2014 and went public in June of 2016, is looking to expand its services beyond Canadian borders, with talks with partners in the American and European markets, although Di Benedetto declined to disclose names.
