The Eastern Conference featured a bevy of disappointing teams this year.

Frank Seravalli was joined by Colby Cohen to discuss which team playoff near-miss from the Eastern Conference had the most disappointing season on the latest episode ofWho had the more disappointing season, the Detroit Red Wings , Philadelphia Flyers , or the Pittsburgh Penguins ?I think the Red Wings. You throw the Penguins in there because they have Sidney Crosby and that core. I think there’s obviously major disappointment.

It’s disappointing because you bring in Patrick Kane and he’s been almost a point-per-game while he was there, I think he ended up with 47 or 48 points in 51 games, which is incredible for a guy coming off hip surgery the way he did. But I’d say the Detroit Red Wings are the team I’d pick from those three options.last week, perspective is key, like you knew heading into the season that the Flyers in all likelihood declared themselves rebuilding.

They lost eight straight games, winning any one of those games would have probably got them into the playoffs and oh by the way they missed so they don’t have a spot in the draft lottery and have a zero percent chance of getting Macklin Celebrini. Does it get any more disappointing than that?
