Only British Columbia and Quebec have laws about that. Drivers on certain mountainous routes in B.C. must have winter or all-season tires on between Oct. 1 and April 30. Quebec mandates them between Dec. 1 and March 15.Laws or no laws, most provinces and territories in Canada, vehicle and tire manufacturers, and the Canadian Automobile Association all recommend the use of winter tires.
Eighty per cent of Canadians who have winter tires said they had saved them from a hazardous driving situation, such as loss of control or a collision.Professional driver Carl Nadeau thinks other jurisdictions should follow Quebec’s lead in making winter tires mandatory. “People with all-wheel drive will say they aren’t getting stuck but they don’t think about braking. All-seasons lack the traction, so you don’t have the grip to stop on time if a kid runs out in front of you. Even if you’re driving slow, you can’t stop like you should.”
“I just want to make sure my family is safe, so I want traction on snow and ice, longevity and performance.”
Mine are going on Oct 30th. At the rate 2020 is going we could get a massive snow storm early November.
When temperatures are consistently 7 degrees Celsius or lower. Or like me ,' it gonna snow tommrow better get my tires on'🤣
Before it snows.
I never took them off. lol
On your car.
Before Winter, of course!
I love my snow tires cause I can drive like an a hole
In Alberta apparently by mid October lol.
Winter tires.. ? qu'est-ce que c'est? 🤔🤔
At the end of October before anyone else
Many dumbasses believe that they are not required!
Lol just asking this now fuck ctvnews is just awful .....quick we need a story Holy fuck ....when's the best time to turn on the air conditioning lol get fucked
Preferably close to when it’s going to, or has snown.
Mid October. Not hard to plan for it, October 10-20 comes right on schedule every single year.
The day after the first snow. So you get to wait for hours at local tire shop.
Now before it gets busy, if you can’t do yourself.
5pm
Like now? 😳
What you're supposed to take them Off? D'oh!
Never unless you can't drive decently
November
Before Canadian Thanksgiving
Usually November when the temperature is consistently below 10 degrees, but I got them on this week. Not driving much in the pandemic and wanted to go before shops get busy.
Winter tires? There’s no fun unless you’re riding on bald tires.
Mine are going on the first week of November. Appointment already made.
Never those are for idiots who can’t drive
I usually do it based on temperature, as the reason why winter tires are better is because they are softer and don't get hard when it's colder. Once it starts to get to below freezing, I will change them. Once it gets to 5-10 C in the spring on average, I switch them back.
Now
Depends on the region.
Drive in Toronto after paying rent? How novel an idea that is.
When you realize you don't know how to drive with all-seasons in the snow.
During the winter?
That question suggests you think we're all infants. We don't need to be infantalized thanks!!
Depends on how long Dr Tam, Pandemic Patty and Spender Trudeau keep us locked down - no need for snow tires where I live if Global Warming continues
I never took them off this year. If you are quaranteening at home why would you pay $100 this past spring to take them off knowing you aren’t going anywhere.
CTV_Liveat5 Next week
Like ASAP if you’re in AB. As soon as temps start to dip below and heavy snowfall is expected. saveonyourinsurance
I now live in BC, so the winter tires went on September 30. Had to have them on by October 1.
Last week.
Just did mine
When is it time to drive according to winter conditions?
Mid September
Now?
When the temperature is regularly below 7°C.
The day before that 👆 day.
