Kovalchuk, Weise put up a fight, but Jets hand another loss to Canadiens - Sportsnet.caKovalchuk and Weise's play Monday symbolized what the Canadiens are right now without top-sixers Gallagher, Drouin and Armia. They are a team putting in as respectable an effort as anyone could expect, but one that can’t seem to mitigate an obvious talent deficiency. EricEngels CanadiensMTL NHLJets How can you comment on this game without mentioning Price once again allowing a soft goal when his team had momentum? Last year 4pter against Columbus. Same thing. Last playoffs against Tampa? Same. Why do you guys protect him? Untouchable face of team? CanadiensMTL EricEngels NHLJets I’m not sure that Kovalchuk is a shining example of a talent deficiency. There is plenty of question marks, but I think talent would be the last one. CanadiensMTL EricEngels I’m sure Kovalchuk will do everything in his power to stay in the NHL and not take the $630,000 pay cut that comes with playing in the AHL. His 30-40 goal seasons are behind him, he is going to have to earn it in other ways.
