Sutter spent the 2022-23 season with the Capitals’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Hershey Bears. He notched five goals and seven assists for a career-high of 12 points in 69 games; he added 56 penalty minutes to his stats as well. During the AHL Playoffs, Sutter registered two goals and four assists for six points in 20 games en-route to the Bears Calder Cup championship victory. He scored the game-winning goal in overtime in Game 3 of the Calder Cup Finals.
The 6-foot-4, 211-pound forward was initially drafted No. 93 overall in the third round of the 2018 NHL Draft. Sutter spent four years in the Western Hockey League playing for the Everett Silvertips. In 2017-18 he helped the Silvertips en route to their WHL Finals appearance, registering nine goals and 19 points in 21 games before the Silvertips were eliminated by the Swift Current Broncos. He amassed 60 goals and 77 assists for 137 points in 204 career WHL games.
The Calgary, Alberta, product is a member of the famous Sutter family; he is the son of Ron and his uncles are Darryl, Duane, Brent, Rich and Brian. His cousins are Brett, Brandon, Brody, Merrick, Luke and Shaun.
