Vancouver police have released video of a brutal assault outside a Yaletown nightclub that left one man with with an life-altering head injury.

The incident occurred almost a one year ago, on March 31, 2019, outside Pierre’s Champagne Lounge at 1028 Hamilton Street. The nightclub staff called 911 at 2 a.m. to report that a fight had occurred outside the club and a man was unconscious. Officers located two victims — one with minor injuries and another, a 28-year-old man from Burnaby, with serious head injuries.“This is a serious, disturbing assault. The victim continues to deal with the effects of his life-changing injuries,” said VPD spokesperson Sgt. Jason Robillard. “Detectives have been working behind-the-scenes to identify the suspects, but we now need the public’s help. We want to talk to all of the people involved and get their version of what took place that night.

In the video, two groups of men can be seen arguing outside the club’s velvet-roped entrance when one man knocks out the Burnaby man with two punches to the head.Anyone with information about the men in the video, or about the incident, is asked to contact VPD detectives at 604-717-2541 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
