A man sentenced to time-served in November for threatening a bus driver is back in jail after being charged with offences allegedly starting eight days after his release.
Rodney Francis Bruyere, 53, made threats to punch and shoot a Coast Mountain bus driver in Vancouver on July 12.Denhoff noted Bruyere had been in custody 42 days, which was credited at 63 days. She said Bruyere has indicated a willingness to get treatment for problems he faces; however, as a condition of his release, Bruyere is banned from using Coast Mountain or TransLink.
Bruyere was back in Vancouver Provincial Court Jan. 5 before Judge Reginald Harris. He appeared via video from jail.It is further alleged that, on Dec. 20, he committed theft in excess of $5,000 and had in his possession a car stereo worth more than $5,000, knowing the equipment was obtained via an indictable offence.Denhoff banned Bruyere from possessing weapons as defined by the Criminal Code of Canada.
