Sidney’s Army Navy and Airforce Club will be hosting a fundraiser for the Wounded Warriors Run BC on Feb. 4, prior to their warm-up 60 km run on Sunday.Members of the public are encouraged to bring their dancing shoes for a night of fun, with a silent auction and meat draw taking place, at 9831 4th Street, unit #302. Admission is $10. Doors open at 5 p.m., with a limit of 200 patrons permitted.
Pulling the event off is no small feat. While most events take place in a single area, this event crosses through most every major city on the Island and requires a lot of planning. “It’s pretty special to roll into a final destination all together as one group,” Zweng said. “It’s pretty powerful, because we also have serving military, firefighters, paramedics, coast guard, civilians – all working together.”Sign up for our newsletter to get breaking news and daily digests sent to your email.Tomorrow’s run will see service members, past-and-present, travel from Sooke to Sidney in a 60 km single day fundraising event.
