Vancouver’s power play is ranked 20th in the 22-team WHL, connecting at 17.5 per cent . The Kamloops Blazers lead the way at 29.8 per cent . When it comes overall standings, the Giants are seventh in the Western Conference, caught up in a four-team logjam in the middle of pack. The fourth-place Everett Silvertips and fifth-place Tri-City Americans are five points up, while the sixth-place Prince George Cougars are two in front. Tri-City has two games in hand on the other three teams.The Rockets hold down the eighth and final playoff spot, nine points in back of Vancouver and two points up on the Victoria Royals .

Tyler Thorpe bagged the winner for the Giants on the power play Saturday, tipping home a Dylan Anderson point shot at 9:28 of the third period to make it 4-2. It was one second before a boarding minor to Kelowna’s John Babcock was about to expire. It was Thorpe’s second goal of the season.
