Unvaccinated truckers bringing COVID-19 vaccines and medical devices into Canada to combat the pandemic are exempt from testing and quarantine requirements at the border, a government order says.

The exemption is due to the "urgent public health necessity" of the supplies they are transporting, Health Canada states.

The exemption is one of a number set out in an order-in-council published last month that outlines decisions made by cabinet, such as regulations or appointments. The restrictions on unvaccinated cross-border truckers have caused much political debate in Canada and are ostensibly a major sticking point for the protesters camped outside Parliament Hill.

"The purpose of this amendment is to clarify that those involved in commercial transport who are transporting medically necessary supplies remain exempt from the vaccination requirement to enter Canada," Health Canada said in a statement. The Canada Border Services Agency created confusion last month after it issued a statement to media saying that unvaccinated truckers would remain exempt from quarantine and testing requirements after entering the country at the Canada-U.S. border.

Sure looks like science to me lol. I guess cv only effects poeple when transporting goods other then vacs. What a joke

Wait…is this a joke

🤡 🤡🤡

Omg our govt is an actual joke.

Time for a General Strike. The political class has lost the plot and the Zoom Meeting class needs to be taught a lesson.

You’re united with the majority of Canadians but rather united with the majority of Hooligans!

We demand the blood of Jesus over come the mandates, evil elite and bring down the powers and principalities of Baal! Jesus, Mary, Joseph comfort us!

Wow!! Talk about conflicting messages? This is getting stupid?

Police enforce the mandate but aren't required to vaccinated themselves

I remember a time when I could tell the difference between an onion headline and legitimate news...oh for those days again.

American truckers are only 50% vaccinated. There’s no choice. If vaccines were made here, vaccinated truckers would be delivering them, as 90% are vaccinated.

Now it is crystal cleR that this is not about the pandemic but the PM's ego. The Emergency plan is to show that he is tough as the truckers showed how weak he is. This PM is literally the laughing stock of the world. Hopefully people wake up and not vote him in again.

This is where politicians and news agencies fail. Trucker. Simple. Not unvaccinated truckers- not vaccinated truckers. Human beings. This is exactly the problem; segregating and stigmatizing.

LOL!!

Want better? Demand better! Start with this: Living wages pegged to productivity, dignity at work and the possibility of social mobility, or gtfo poverty exploiters! Mass mobilization, general strikes and direct action! No war but class war! You want a future? Deserve it.
