A string of hostile incidents in Winnipeg, which included two cars with U.S. licence plates being keyed, has some United States Air Force members stationed in the city speaking out.

As a partnership with the United States, somewhere between 10 and 100 American troops help out at the Canadian base in Winnipeg.

"Some of the dependent spouses and things of that nature have gotten some profanity at local business establishments, and some have been told to go back home," said Hardeman. There was also an incident where two cars were keyed because of their American plates. "Our American colleagues are very aware of this, and they certainly don't want to be a factor of the COVID-19 or a threat or a danger to us," said RCAF Col. Eric Charron, "They wouldn't be serving in this capacity if they didn't believe that."

The militia getting a taste of what it is like to be on the end of COVID fears. Would that be irony?

How are American troops essential in Canada and how do they help out at the base?

Send back to the US of A

Canada and the US share troops in key roles regularly, politics aside. It’s called a common defence. Tagging cars is just utter stupidity. Yes, we have troops in the US on exchange.

Are there Canadian troops in the US? Why do we need US troops to 'help' us.

If you see an out of country plate you can report it and let the police investigate. Why would you think you have the right to damage someone else’s property? It won’t be long and we’ll be hearing stories of Canadians being harassed in the states because of these stories.

Needing knowledge transfer via local papers. Manitobans are great people.... they need to know Military peeps are soooooo screened..... its the travellers across through to Alaska we need to keep an eye on. NO STOPPING. 🇨🇦❤️🇺🇸 💝
