Attorney General William Barr publicly swiped at U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday, declaring the president's tweets about Justice Department prosecutors and open cases 'make it impossible for me to do my job.'

Published Thursday, February 13, 2020 10:11PM ESTWASHINGTON -- Attorney General William Barr publicly swiped at U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday, declaring the president's tweets about Justice Department prosecutors and open cases "make it impossible for me to do my job."

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said Trump "wasn't bothered by the comments at all and he has the right, just like any American citizen, to publicly offer his opinions." She added, "The President has full faith and confidence in Attorney General Barr to do his job and uphold the law." Earlier this week, Trump applauded Barr on Twitter for the decision to reverse the sentencing recommendation, writing: "Congratulations to Attorney General Bill Barr for taking charge of a case that was totally out of control and perhaps should not have even been brought."

"It's just a different method of communicating with the American people and the president has every right to weigh in," O'Brien said. "He's got First Amendment rights, even though he's president. And he's got a right to weigh in with his opinions on the big issues of the day and I think he's going to continue to do that."

It is extremely rare for Justice Department leaders to reverse the decision of prosecutors on a sentencing recommendation, particularly after that recommendation has been submitted to the court. The actual sentencing is up to the judge. He said of the prosecutors who resigned in protest: "I don't think they quit the case. ... I don't think they quit for moral reasons. I think they got caught in the act by me."

Some cannabis companies are mere months away from running out of cashLiquidity a more pressing concern for Canadian cannabis companies than for their U.S. counterparts, report says Turdeau will be the first drug dealer to figure out a way not to make money off of legalizing pot. Massive flow of tax dollars coming. Hey if it weren't horribly overpriced and generally of poor quality, you might've had a shot at success with this! Still can't beat the BC buds in quality or price. That's never gonna change as long as the govt has a hand in the production here in Ontario.
