A police officer walks across the yard of a home on 74 Street in Eskasoni as other officers and RCMP vehicles surround the house where two murder suspects arrested Wednesday morning. CONTRIBUTEDESKASONI, N.S. — Nova Scotia RCMP arrested two people in relation to the 2021A man and a woman were arrested from a house in Eskasoni on 74 Street after multiple police units surrounded the home and called frequently for the occupants to get out.

The woman came out of the house first and was arrested by officers. After her arrest, police are heard over a loudspeaker or megaphone telling the man that he is under arrest, that they know he is in the home and to come out. Before the man left the home, a fire started in the house and the videos show heavy smoke leaving the building, first from a basement window then the roof.

Morris, 30, was found dead on Beach Road in Eskasoni on Aug. 9, 2021. Police determined the cause of the death was homicide and the Northeast Nova Scotia RCMP Major Crimes Unit conducted the investigation.
