They say the incident happened shortly after midnight on Monday morning while five people on three snowmobiles were driving on the frozen water near Gravenhurst, Ont.
They say all three vehicles crashed into the icy water, killing 15-year-old Alexander Martin of Gravenhurst and 11-year-old Mitchell Paris of Bracebridge, Ont. Why on earth do people continue to foolishly ride these machines on lakes when you're not sure of the thickness?

So sad. Wondering if a pressure crack opened up water or if they were near an area of the lake that never completely freezes solid and why they were riding so late at night on a lake
