The fire started in the plant's secondary processing room. Crews are assessing the extent of structural damage.

"The intention is to rebuild, but until we know what the exact circumstance is, it's hard to make a decision there," said Glen Price, a director with the business. It'll take three to four weeks for Sunterra to know the full scope of the damage caused by the fire and what the next steps are. The local food bank has been asking for donations, and other measures are being taken in a bid to help people land on their feet.
