An orange tabby cat is likely to have used up more than a few of its nine lives during an unauthorized trip from China to British Columbia.

The North Cariboo District Branch of the B.C. SPCA says the emaciated, six-year-old female was found inside a shipping container originally loaded nearly a month ago in Shenzhen.

No food or water was available but it's believed the cat survived by licking condensation that had formed on the walls of the shipping container. The cat is quarantined while being nursed back to health and the SPCA estimates the cost to save it will reach almost $2,800. "We rushed her to the vet because she was in such poor condition that we knew she would require intensive veterinary care for an extended period of time to regain her strength," Schare says in a news release.

Robyn Allan: What massive increase in crude oil exports to China from B.C.?Has “a combination of Chinese demand and increased pipeline space led to a massive increase in the export of crude oil out of the Port of Vancouver last year” as reported in The Vancouver Sun on Ma… Honestly folks why do you keep printing this drivel. The reason they aren’t exporting to Asia is because there is so much regional demand (Washington and California) the pipeline has no space for Asia. To argue it is a lack of demand is a joke. bcpoli robynallan transmountain robynallan - I personally don’t care where the oil goes once it reaches tidewater - b/c proper market rates will apply. One thing you didn’t bring up in your article (conveniently) is that TMX is contractually heavily subscribed by O&G producers - so, once built will make $$$
