B.C.'s capital has once again been named the '#2 Best Small City' in Conde Nast Traveler's annual Readers' Choice Awards, after previously receiving the honours in 2017.

Posted: Oct. 5, 2022 10:45AMB.C.’s capital has once again been named the “#2 Best Small City” in Conde Nast Traveler’s annualThe city ranked ahead of destinations like San Sebastian, Spain; Cambridge, United Kingdom; and Salzberg, Austria, according to Destination Greater Victoria in a news release Tuesday.

Vancouver Island, meanwhile, scored number four in the publication’s “Top Islands — Rest of North America” category, ahead of Cozumel, Mexico. DGV is the city’s official, non-profit destination marketing organization and says the awards cover numerous categories in travel and tourism, including hotels, resorts, cruise lines, spas, cities and more, with all winners selected by Conde Nast readers.

In fact, DGV says hundreds of thousands of respondents submitted ratings between April 1 and June 30, 2022, judging candidates on criteria relevant to their category and based on a five-point scale.“Conde Nast Traveler is an established and reputable publication. The world-class hotels, restaurants, and attractions for which Greater Victoria is known will reach a wide audience through this ranking,” Nursery said.

“We pride ourselves on connecting with guests and personalizing their stay down to the smallest detail,” added Bill Lewis, chair of the Hotel Association of Greater Victoria and general manager of the Magnolia. “As we enter our 25th year in 2023, we are honoured that our guests chose to vote for us and appreciate the service that we offer.”
