A peaceful demonstration summoned over 400 people from cross-ethnic Afghan backgrounds to a justice rally for the Hazara community in downtown Toronto Sunday afternoon.
Signs held by protesters matched the chants and speeches from members of the Hazara community calling for the end of the targeted attacks against the Afghan minority. “They should not give it a different name,” said Sunday’s rally organizer Erfan Danha, “It is an attack on a particular group that has different religious beliefs,” he added.
