Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for Barrie and parts of southern Ontario.
The weather agency says meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm that could possibly produce a tornado.“Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible,” the alert continued. Earlier in the day, Toronto was in for hot and humid conditions with humidex levels hovering in the low 40s on WednesdayThe weather agency says Toronto can expect a 30 per cent chance of showers beginning Wednesday afternoon with a high of 31 C. Daytime temperatures will bring humidex levels of 41 C to 43 C, according to Environment Canada.Rainfall continues Wednesday evening with potential thunderstorms lasting overnight.
Thursday through Sunday may see cloudy conditions and rainfall with temperatures hovering around the high 20s, before dropping to lows of 17 C at night, said Environment Canada.People should check in on older family, friends, and neighbours. Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
