Canada’s only female Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Kim Campbell, was honoured on this date in 2004 with the ceremony in Centre Block celebrating the unveiling of her Official Portrait.First of all, I want to say how proud I am to have my portrait hanging in the House of Commons. It is very humbling.

In many ways, the life that this portrait represents seems a long time ago, it is eleven years, since my time as Prime Minister came to an end.

And so, I am deeply honoured that I am the first woman to have her picture in the corridor, I really look forward to the day when there are many other female faces also hanging in the corridor, it gives me great pleasure that I get messages often from young women saying, in school we’re doing a program on the Prime Ministership and I’m writing about you because you’re the only woman.

Conservatives are ‘fearmongering’ over assault-style gun ban: public safety minister | National NewswatchNational Newswatch: Canada's most comprehensive site for political news and views. Make it a daily habit. There will be no trust ref: Liberal Gun control bills. During Covid they slid a OIC thru that put 1500 rifles on the banned list. With no discussion. Gun shops greatly affected and licensed shooting enthusiasts punished. All lies from this guy! This amendment bans one of the most common models of hunting rifle in Canada, includes a number of single-shot, rimfire, and bolt-action rifles, and the CanadianPress chooses to lead with the Liberal attack talking point - a lie easily countered by just *reading the amendment.* Please post the definition of 'assault style' so it all gets cleared up.
