in sending out birthday greetings to the leader of the Bloc, Yves-François Blanchet, who was born in Drummondville, Quebec, in 1965. The BQ leader turns 57 today.

A former Quebec MNA and cabinet minister, Blanchet was first elected to the Commons in 2019 after being acclaimed leader of the Bloc earlier that year. Under his leadership, the party regained official party status in the House by electing 32 members.
