Woods to take part in Memorial Tournament. MORE:

Tiger Woods will take part in next week's Memorial Tournament, joining the PGA Tour for the first time since the season was pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I’m looking forward to playing in the @MemorialGolf next week," Woods posted on his Twitter account Thursday. "I’ve missed going out and competing with the guys and can’t wait to get back out there."next week. I’ve missed going out and competing with the guys and can’t wait to get back out there. At January's Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, Woods was nine-under for the tournament, finishing in ninth and six strokes back of winner Marc Leishman.

Three weeks later, Woods struggled mightily at the Genesis Invitational in Pacific Palisades, CA. Woods finished last among players who made the cut in 68th, blowing up on the weekend with scores of 76 and 77, respectively. At 11-over for the tournament, Woods finished 22 shots behind the victor, Adam Scott.

The Memorial, in Dublin, OH, is Jack Nicklaus's signature tournament, held at Muirfield. Woods has won the tournament on five occasions, most recently in 2012. He also had the worst round of his professional career at the Memorial in 2015 when he shot an 85 in the third round. Woods finished ninth at last year's memorial at nine-under, 10 strokes behind winner Patrick Cantlay.
