The public’s appetite for new stories and characters on the silver screen doesn’t appear to be waning any time soon either. In 2021 alone, the MCU released three different films, in the process making matters worse for comedy fans since many of these films incorporate enough humour for most casual moviegoers to fill the void left, in part, by the dearth of stoner comedies.
While this is certainly an alternative, the problem with being limited to streaming is that most people are likely going to scroll right past those films, perhaps perpetuating the narrative of some that people just aren’t interested in funny movies anymore.
