When will Mitch Marner join the MapleLeafs? With NHL training camps getting underway this week, here's three big questions facing the team. (lukefoxjukebox)

Dubas doesn’t want Leafs Nation to fret about that big doughnut you see to the right of the club’s “current cap space.” Math wizard Brendan Pridham has a mapped a plan to squeeze the Maple Leafs’ leading scorer — when/if he signs his second contract — under the ceiling, be it short- or long-term.

1. Marner is but one of several high-profile young stars trying to move the goalposts coming out his entry-level deal.3. Neither side is exploring the trade route, and neither is bashing the other in the press. That said, Marner’s agent, Darren Ferris, has a track record of dragging these things out longer than necessary. And, thanks to the great William Nylander fiasco of 2018, so too does Dubas.

Auston Matthews, William Nylander and Tavares needn’t worry; Andreas Johnsson and Kasperi Kapanen, given nice raises in the summer, represent the next tier. But there is space for a prized and patient farm-system product like Trevor Moore or Jeremy Bracco — or stud KHL import Ilya Mikheyev, 24 — to make some noise in the more creative half of the lineup.

While low-risk acquisitions, Ben Harpur and Jordan Schmaltz, arrive hungry to stick with their second big-league franchise, others like Justin Holl and Martin Marincin try to keep their NHL dreams afloat. Our guess: Yes, it is. Very telling was Frederik Andersen’s choice to answer an on-ice question last week — In which area do you see the most improvement from September of 2018? — by invoking something less tangible.

lukefoxjukebox Selfish players. Had enough of this teams fiasco for the last 45 years. Bye bye Leafs.

lukefoxjukebox Opened by injuries... who wrote the headline? Fire them. Horrible.

lukefoxjukebox Luke doing some major Leafs ass kissing. Don't matter...still no budget to send this second rate reporter on the road with the team. Try English 101.

lukefoxjukebox Marner to the Oilers

lukefoxjukebox This saga needs to end already either he signs or let him go enough is enough already! It’s clear he only cares about money so fuck his greedy ass! Let him go! I am so tired of these greedy kids holding teams hostage so they can get richer! Greed is killing sports!

lukefoxjukebox 1. When his dad tells him to. 2. Trade Nylander 3. Who cares?

lukefoxjukebox He can take a hike. Only out for himself regardless on what it does for them team. He is not interested in winning

lukefoxjukebox When his dad tells him to.

lukefoxjukebox I get why Matthews, Tavares and Reilly’s names are in the conversation for Captain but you really have to throw Marner’s name in there too! To me Reilly should get it, soft spoken, quite leader, 7th year in blue and white and a class act. Let the big guns do their thing.

lukefoxjukebox I say f$&k him. Leave him sit. This is our offer, take it or not. Sign or sit. Make sure if you get the offer sheet it’ll bring the 5 first round picks. Other than that, leave him sit

lukefoxjukebox The delay tactics adopted by Dubas are going to backfire sooner or later. You want to attract lions, you’ve got to throw a chunk of meat. Else, you’re going to attract only monkeys. Marner’s a game changer. Without him, the Leafs are toothless. Hurry already. nhl

lukefoxjukebox Trade him. Enough of this shyt. Trade him

lukefoxjukebox When he signs the contract.

lukefoxjukebox I can see by Mariners body language he does not like it in Toronto anymore

lukefoxjukebox When he signs a contract

lukefoxjukebox He'll probably join the team after he signs a contract

lukefoxjukebox Now would be good 🤷🏻‍♀️

lukefoxjukebox You know there are 6 other Canadian teams right
