When a former student found teacher Michael Gregory in a state of undress with two girls, Gregory threatened the student’s life.
“That something sexual was going on between us was very obvious,” she said. “Gregory and I flirted with each other shamelessly in front of other teachers and students.”Riley and Gregory began engaging in sexual intercourse when she would visit his acreage just outside Calgary, according to her affidavit. She was 14 and 15 when that abuse happened, she alleges.
“He would then open the door and the teacher would see me alone in that locked room with Gregory looking dishevelled and, of course, guilty,” she said in the affidavit. She was “one of the favourites,” she stated. “In every grade, Gregory would have a few girls who were his favourites.” “Everything came pouring out of me — the sexual comments, the touching, the violence, as well as the rumours that he was sleeping with one of the other girls,” she said of her conversation with her parents.
“My hopes are that the people that were true victims are recognized and apologized to,” she said during an interview with the Star. “This was a boy that Gregory liked to tease because he was Jewish,” according to a filing from a former student who said Gregory started sexually abusing her when she was 14.
