Cranes have become a prominent feature across the Halifax skyline over the last decade. And as more and more developments take place, more and more older buildings are being torn down to make room.

And according to a recent report, high levels of greenhouse gas emissions are released up-front by high rise construction, developments, and demolitions.says there's a better way. And it would be more appropriate for our society and to meet HRM's HaliFACT climate change plan to use more in-fill buildings, or retrofitting existing structures. Peggy Cameron is the author of the report who has a Masters in Environmental Studies.
