The pressure is building on the Ottawa Senators to complete a sale

Knowing he’s in the driver’s seat with Apostolopoulos out, the belief is Andlauer, who owns a 10 per cent share in the Montreal Canadiens, has informed officials with GSP and the Melnyk estate that he’s ready to sign on the dotted line immediately and wants this done.

A source familiar with these types of deals said Andlauer probably feels like he’s in a position of strength with the Melnyk estate. A report a week ago indicated the Kimel family had pulled out, but Postmedia confirmed that wasn’t the case and they’ve been working on strengthening their bid to try to win this. Sources told Postmedia on Saturday that the sale would be completed soon. It’s believed officials with GSP and representatives of the estate have entered final negotiations with a preferred bidder.
