A Calgary doctor saved a man's life after he had a heart attack while hiking -- only to save him again days later when the man needed heart surgery at a Calgary hospital.

OTTAWA -- Darrell Parker and Dr. Corey Adams arrived separately to hike Calgary's Grassi Lakes Trail with their families on June 20. The two men were strangers, but within days, Adams had saved Parker's life. Twice.

"Darrell was passed out or unconscious on the side of the bank. We realized that he didn't have a pulse and was actually at that time completely blue," Adams said. Parker needed a quintuple bypass and was transferred to Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary — the hospital where Adams works. According to Adams, Parker is very lucky — as cardiac arrests that occur outside of hospitals are often fatal.

Ontario to ban suspensions for children in Grade 3 and below in efforts to rid education system of racismA 2017 study reported Black students were more than twice as likely as other racialized and white students to be suspended at least once before graduating from high school Wait what? PrisonPlanet, I've got a feeling this won't end racism... They need to ban suspension across the board. Have the kids shadow a teacher and do some administrative work instead of sitting at home playing Xbox . I think positive reinforcement could help. Ok, so a kid can stab another kid and stay in school?

'Effects of isolation' are surfacing: Pediatricians call for return to schoolPediatricians on both sides of the border are calling for a return to school in September, with American doctors recommending masks, one-metre spacing, assigned seats on buses and one-way hallways. My kid loves being home. Maybe because there’s no violence in our home compared to her nightmare of a classroom. I can hear the lazy teachers whining already. It's not a matter of WHY to open schools - it's a matter of HOW to open schools!
