“I love being outdoors, running around and it's a challenge, like Larry said. If I make a bad shot, it’s about trying to do better the next time … sort of like skiing,” she said, referencing another sport she enjoys. “If you have a bad run, it doesn't matter. You just go back up and try and do it better the next time.”“Where you get to hit something hard,” he quipped, eliciting a chuckle from the others.

“She has adapted and has a wicked underhand serve and slice,” Lindsay said. “You really have to pay attention to get it back. She can place it wherever she wants in that service box.”“In the beginning, you have to get used to the idea you can't play like you used to play, don't get too upset and frustrated, and adapt some of your shots,” MacLennan said.

“But I tried a lot of sports. I played broomball here for Salmon River when I was in my 40s and that was quite an experience, especially when we had an all-night tournament in Shearwater … playing at three in the morning. I played that for two years.
