Marchessault just played the final season of his six-year contract.

, one of the ‘Original Misfits’ of the Golden Knights, has just finished the final year of his six-year contract that he signed with the team back in January 2018, one of the first big signings by the expansion franchise. Since then, he has become one of the staples in Vegas. The Quebec native has averaged well over 50 points a season with the Golden Knights, and was an important piece in helping the team win the franchise’s first Stanely Cup in 2023, earning the Conn Smythe Trophy.

Even with the recent salary cap bump, it is clear Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon is going to have to make some maneuvers in order to fit the 33-year-old into the lineup, or be forced to move on. The Golden Knights have a reputation for doing wild things to get the players they want, including, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk look at the path Vegas might be on in order to keep Marchessault in the fold.They are trying like hell to get Jonathan Marchessault signed.
