The Internet makes it easy to find information about things you’re looking for, but it isn’t very good at helping you find out about things that you don’t yet know about but might be interested in

How did you first find out what was going on in theatre – or the arts, in general – in your community?

This was an extension of a habit I’d fallen into growing up in others cities, where I was guided to art, films and plays by similar publications such as Uptown in Winnipeg, or the Mirror and the Hour in Montreal. Social-media algorithms rarely feed you anything surprising – just what advertisers pay to pop up on your feed.

So, I’m glad to see that a new top sponsored result for the keywords “Toronto” and “theatre” is a site called, which the Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts has partnered with Destination Toronto on. This inter-arts listings site is off to a solid start, though its functionality still needs work. When I clicked on its theatre page, I got a list that included dance and comedy shows – and in many cases plays now on stage were listed below shows that aren’t yet open.

Majority of big Canadian companies now linking executive pay to ESGStudy finds 68 per cent of companies in the S&P/TSX 60 Index of large corporations offer chief executives and other top brass incentives at least partly based on meeting ESG objectives tetleyuk retarded TaikaWaititi Switzerland ParlCH ESG is a particularly toxic combination of green-washing & virtue signalling. But I learned early in my long career to be wary of three letter business acronyms ... and to stay well clear of the sea of parasitical consultant hucksters who make their living pumping them.

Canadian scientists watching for new COVID variants in airplane wastewaterOn Friday, Vancouver International Airport will join Toronto's Pearson International Airport in taking samples of fecal matter that came from airplane toilets to identify what coronavirus variants and subvariants passengers and crew might be bringing into Canada This bullshit is to distract from the lack of representation from government officials, and the results of all the bad policy. Our democracy is a sham, and those in power should be servants, not dictators. Maybe it’s time for something different. Like Kraken? Gonna name every goddamn sniffle-causing bug? And then push more baseless fears of imminent deaths?
