THUNDER BAY — A Fort Hope First Nation teen is facing several charges after attacking several people and police officers while in custody.
Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service responded to a south side hotel Thursday evening at approximately 9:45 p.m. for reports of a teen damaging property and attacking people. Arriving officers learned a female teen tried to force her way into someone else’s taxi. The teen was led out of the taxi and ended up attacking a security guard who intervened.
The teen was located by police at 10 p.m. and before being taken into custody she assaulted one of the officers. The 17-year-old female who cannot be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act had been charged with one count of assault, one count of assault with a weapon, and three counts of assaulting a peace officer.
