Stroller scam: Parents sound the alarm in Quebec, saying they were duped

New and expectant parents are speaking out about what they believe is an online scam. Several couples bought baby strollers from an individual online and allege the products were falsely advertised. According to a legal expert, there are important steps consumers can take to protect themselves against fraud. Global's Phil Carpenter reports.And while parenthood holds many surprises, he says getting scammed while trying to buy baby gear wasn’t something he was expecting.

“When it comes from buying from an online profile, anybody can create a profile create a Gmail or Hotmail address and disappear right after,” she said.“If something goes wrong, there’s no way to find that other person and you will end up losing money.”
