Statistics Canada says November saw the lowest number of employment insurance beneficiaries on record in 25 years.
The federal agency says November marked the lowest number of people receiving EI since comparable data became available in 1997, with the exception of the summer of 2020 when the Canadian Emergency Response Benefit was in place.Statistics Canada says the number of people receiving regular EI benefits that month fell in eight provinces.The agency’s Labour Force Survey found the number of core-aged people who left a job involuntarily in the past 12 months was down 3.
“This decline in the number of people leaving a job involuntarily could have contributed to the historic lows in the number of people receiving regular EI benefits in November 2022,” Statistics Canada said.

A welder, plumber, other trades with just a grade 12 cert. will get paid more than immigrants who come to Canada via university education. Think deeper. I am a self employed Uber driver, I have been so for seven years now. On any given day I can earn between $100-$400 per day or more. The more work and effort that I put into it, the more I earn. Hopefully a benefit and pension plan can be available for me soon. 2) I also am working on acquiring an AZ air brake trucking licence. If one were to become an owner-operator of a truck, with the right certifications, you could earn around $150,000 per year or more.
