The stats paint a picture of a Stars team on the right side of the razor’s edge, their margin of error unsustainable. But with the chance to all but bury the Golden Knights in Game 4, Dallas remains focused on the win column. (via SportsnetSpec)

Through three games the Stars trail Vegas in Corsi, Fenwick, shots and shot attempts, but they lead in scoring chances and have outscored the Golden Knights 4-3.

Vegas head coach Peter DeBoer knows all the statistics, and doesn’t apologize for the fact his team has received 14 power plays to Dallas’ five. Speaking of stats, DeBoer hates this one: His team has five 40-plus shot nights in these playoffs and hasn’t scored more than two goals in any of them.“You’ve got to stick ‘em in the net,” he said. “You can’t coach putting the puck in the net, but you can coach making it harder on the goalie. More traffic, more layers of traffic… all those things.”
