FREDERICTON, N.B. — Fredericton's St. Thomas University is adding a new four-year aviation program providing practical ground and flight training to students starting this September.

One of a few programs available in Canada, the Bachelor of Arts program combines traditional undergraduate education with hundreds of hours of flying and ground training offered in partnership with Moncton Flight College Training’s Fredericton Campus. The new program will begin with first-year courses in social sciences and humanities, followed by flight training and ground school courses in their second year.

In the third and fourth years, students will take three courses at STU and ground school training, in addition to one-on-one instructor training and flying with the MFC Training out of the Fredericton campus. Graduates will earn a commercial pilot licence, a multi-engine class rating and a Group 1 instrument rating alongside a bachelor of arts degree. Students may also qualify to take part in the Airline Transport Pilot Licence exam.It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
