Canadians were horrified by the images 18 months ago from a wreckage-strewn intersection in rural Saskatchewan, where 16 members and staff of the Humboldt Broncos hockey club died and 13 were injured when their bus was hit by a semi truck that had blown through a stop sign.

The experimental four-hour surgery performed in Thailand is already helping a dozen other people with spinal-cord injuries in the United States. “They’re just sort of fancy pacemakers,” says Darrow, who has partnered with researchers at the University of Calgary and University of British Columbia. He thinks it's worse to be an immigrant who rejects the poppy than to be a natural-born Canadian who does; that's not controversial. He just hates immigrants and has been complaining about them on television for 30 years. We could have waited him die of natural causes in front of a live audience spewing his last words of hate. 🍒👍
