DeVos was more enthusiastic in promoting her own chief cause: a $5 billion tax-credit plan to help children attend private schools. She refers to the initiative as ‘education freedom’

WASHINGTON —Education Secretary Betsy Devos’ faced intense backlash from lawmakers and social media alike after proposing to target programs for children with disabilities as well as those from impoverished communities. Democrats called her plan outrageous and damaging to students who need the most help.

“I still can’t understand why you would go after disabled children in your budget. It’s appalling,” Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., said. “We’ve proposed this particular program elimination because it’s been thinly spread and not that effective on any particular thing,” DeVos said. What if ending the Special Olympics is part of a larger move to deplatform people with disabilities suffering from private healthcare’s dominance, and who aren’t vulnerable to the neoliberal individualistic rhetoric of “they don’t work hard enough” #Medicare4Alli have nothing to say but betsy devos and this administration are truly fucking evil. fucking soulless https://t.co/NSUUMXtACyJust when you thought the Trump admin couldn’t possibly stoop any lower Betsy DeVos and Co.

Trans woman hopes funding cut will send message to Vancouver rape crisis group“The organization is not bad,” says Kimberly Nixon. “It just means that attitudes have to change” Where can I donate? Bullying women who’ve been raped & denying their BC Supreme Court and Supreme Court of Canada upheld rights to a sex-segregated space to heal is vile and the Vancouver Sun should not play along with that brand of misogyny This is such crap. It's a rape relief shelter and having men parading around pretending to be women is vile and traumatic to women that have suffered enough.
