Kawhi Leonard is leaving the Toronto Raptors to sign with the L.A. Clippers: sources via YahooCASports

Free-agent forward Kawhi Leonard has agreed to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

His arrival marks a new era of basketball not only with the Clippers, but in Los Angeles, as Leonard will share an arena and the spotlight with the rival Lakers, who will also feature a pair of megastars in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Coming off an injury-shortened season that saw him sit all but nine games in 2017-18 with a mysterious quad injury that led to his eventual split with the Spurs, Leonard returned to the court in Toronto for his best season as a pro.

YahooCASports You have to respect his decision. He came in as a hired gun, did his job and will be remembered fondly in Toronto. He is taking far less money to go home to California to be with his family. respect

YahooCASports Heading should read: After helping Raptors win their first EVER NBA champion, Kawhi choses family first & decided to go home. Post script should read: he didn’t take the easy way out by joining the LAL but decided on the road less travelled LAC.
