Ottawa—Food and farm organization see some progress in finding employees in an increase to 30 per cent in the number of temporary foreign workers a company can have in its workforce.

Employers in sectors with demonstrated labour shortages will be allowed to hire up to 30 per of their workforce through the TFW Program while others can hire up to 20 per cent. Agriculture Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau said, “By facilitating the entry of foreign workers and extending their stay, the government aims to enable businesses to operate at full capacity and access new markets, increasing demand for our agricultural producers.”
