Ontario businesses are no longer required to check someone's vaccine status at the door. However, some businesses in Ottawa say they plan to reserve times to serve vaccinated customers only.

The province's vaccine certificate system ended March 1 and many businesses have celebrated doing away with the system, which had been in place since the fall. Others haveThen there are some who have opted for a hybrid approach — remaining open to all customers most days, but reserving certain hours for vaccinated customers only. The Hintonburg Public House recently announced only those with at least two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine would be able to attend on Thursdays.

She said that policy will remain in place until further notice. Depending on demand, Baird would consider expanding those hours. "Ever since we've opened, we've always stood by the mission that we are for everybody," Thompson said.

That’s smart

Nice!

Ah, good old segregation.

So stupid. It’s not even the same variant anymore. Move on.

Great news for them! Their businesses will flourish. 🙏 looking forward to visiting them soon.

Business owners being guided by their own misinformation and not following the experts If you're vax'd then the vax status of others around you is IRRELEVANT as vax does NOT mitigate spread The whole passport system was coercion to get ppl vax'd - NOT a Public Safety measure

I think this is brilliant

I don’t really think that’s fair. It could in some way be seen as discrimination. People that have not been vaccinated have made a choice. If they are in areas with vaccinated people it’s their risk more so then that of the vaccinated. The rule should be if your sick stay at home

The circus left but the clowns remain

what about the scum bag at the farm boy sunday with no mask? what can we do to him? ideas? they dont have to be legal

Until the lawsuits start rolling in or these businesses go out of business!

The unvaxxed should get the one day only.

With no legal mandates, a business will be subject to discrimination laws.

Ridiculous

Soft. Covid is not over just because antivaxxers want their privileges back. WearAMask SocialDistancing VaccinePassports COVIDisAirborne CovidIsNotOver

Then their business will go belly up... Stupidity continues... What's next don't serve Russians?

That is silly but it is a free country

These businesses should Remember the line “choices have consequences”

Pretty sure this is considered discrimination, which is illegal. Businesses do not have the legal right to turn down customers based on religion, gender, sexual orientation, medical history or race. I'm all for getting vaccinated, but this is legally and morally wrong.

we won’t be sitting in restaurants anytime soon. Have fought to long and hard to NOT get C so not sitting next to unknown

It would have served them well to set aside times for unvaxxed patrons during the segregation times. Anyone who discriminates against another person for their health choices should be themselves turned away.

Some folks care others don't.

The proper response to places like this is boycott and bankrupt.

These articles are so stupid. What unvaxxed person would ever go to a place where you are discriminated against and treated like a leper? These losers will never let go of the tiny bit of power the state allowed them have to crap over their fellow man.

Well that is just stupid and ignorant.

Is that not a form of discrimination? I’d say it’s the definition

Great, now let’s get a list of those business and never ever spend a penny there again. You segregate based on medical choice, you don’t deserve customers 🤷🏻‍♂️

Your business your choice.✌🤷‍♂️

Here we go, LetTheUnDemocraticSegregationsBegin. There will be legal challenges to many of these. Lawyer's will have a field day. And maybe, that's what it all about. Wake Up People, you're being played.

Good for Ottawa, they can keep their crap

not serving people based on their gender identity is clearly not OK. However, doing the same thing based on health decisions is ok fordnation is everybody braindead at CBC cheering on this nonsense?

fully vax people are cess pools for variants. i dont wanna be around them

Then they’ll lose business. Businesses who choose to operate this way will either change their unscientific mindsets or they will lose cash. *I’m 3X vaccinated but oppose mandates

So everyone who works at these particular businesses must have staff who are all fully vaccinated

What about Cancer Centers, hospitals, Dr's offices I'm newly diagnosed with Ovarian Ca...don't need unmasked people around me who may be carrier's or not vaccinated!!! 😓

I can see it becoming vaccinated or not sections. Like they used to have smoking or non smoking.

If you (like me) are vaccinated then why would you care if the stranger next to you isn't? Are you worried your vaccine might not work to protect you? Serious questions!

Good for them 😀 their right and freedom to do so 😀

Opinion | As food prices soar, it’s time for Ottawa to stop automatic beer tax hikesAs food prices soar, it’s time for Ottawa to stop automatic beer tax hikes. Chronic labour shortages, supply chain disruptions and rising costs are compounded by the federal government’s annual automatic hike in beer taxes. Opinion Interesting article. Curious though that so many companies are making record profits but blame price increases on inflation and supply chain issues. Starbucks for one, Loblaws is another, but people only seem to blame the govt.
