After Snoop Dogg’s commentary of last week’s fight between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., drew rave reviews on social media, fans wanted to hear more — and they got their wish.
The legendary rapper announced Tuesday that he is partnering with entertainment and music platform Triller to create a new boxing league named The Fight Club. The league will have between five and eight events per year, with Snoop Dogg as the host and announcer. The Fight Club will be set up similarly to Saturday’s Tyson-Jones card by mixing boxing with musical performances. The league will also feature celebrities from different backgrounds, including professional athletes, musicians, actors and social media stars.
In addition to hosting and commentating, Snoop Dogg will help select the fighters and musical acts, along with advising the overall production of the series. The new boxing league will be separate from Tyson’s Legends Only League, but The Fight Club does have the option to pick up potential future events involving the legendary boxer.
The Roman circuses are on the way back.
