JOHN'S, N.L. — A United Airlines Boeing 767 out of New York was forced to make and emergency landing in St. John’s when smoke was discovered in the cabin of the aircraft.

Emergency officials inspected the plane on the ground and found no smoke but a second aircraft was being flown to St. John’s to take the passengers on to their destination.
